Celebration of Poetry | Fall

Featuring a finalist in the One Book One Community Student Poetry Contest. Fall is written by Maddy Trainor a 7th grade student at Pleasant Hills Middle School.

Fall

The light
Streaming through the branches
Illuminating
The fall colors
Of reds, oranges, and yellows
Casting shadows
Along the leaf-strewn ground.

The cool breeze
Sending whispers through the woods
And sending shivers
Through the spines fo the trees
Causing leaves to stir
In a dace
Of celebration.

The last leaves
Cling onto the trees
Like life-perservers
Crumbling
At the slightest touch
The autumn
Has finally arrived.
